Lerner David Welcomes Two Rutgers Students for 2024 Patent Law Externship Program

2024 Externship Program

Lerner David will be participating in the Rutgers Douglass Residential College Externship Program again this year.  We will welcome Xiying Fan, who is majoring in Computer Science and Himanshi Shetty, who is majoring in Biomedical Engineering, both from Rutgers University. Our Patent Law Externship Program runs from June 10-14th, 2024.

This is our fourth year of hosting the externship.  The week-long program will consist of interactive sessions on patent procurement, patent litigation, post-grant proceedings, licensing, studies/opinions, and trademarks given by various partners of the firm. The students will also have mentoring sessions with attorneys and partners. We are happy to share our time to support students so they can gain first-hand insight into the world of patent and trademark law.

About Rutgers Douglass Residential College Externship Program

This externship program is an immersive workplace experience for a one or two week time period where students are mentored by a professional in their area of interest or in a career that they would like to learn more about.  Participating in this job shadowing experience allows students to work on projects, learn about the status of women in the workplace, and get an inside glimpse into the day-to-day work life in a particular career.
